Who can apply?
If you are between the ages of 15-17 years (born between 1st July 1990 - 30th June 1992) and have an interest in obtaining first class training in any of the following industrial trade areas, then an Apprenticeship at GuySuCo is the opportunity for you.
Fitting & Machining - Working on a wide range of factory-related Plant and equipment.
Agricultural Mechanic - Working on the overhaul and maintenance of the estate light Vehicles, Motor Cycles, Tractors, Heavy Plant and associated Agricultural Implements.
Auto Electrical Mechanic- Working to service and repair electrical and electronic systems on a wide range of estate Light Vehicles and Heavy Agricultural Plant.
Electricians - Working on installing domestic electrical Systems and wide range of electrical industrial installations, fault findings on all types of Motor, Starters and A/C & D/C Drives, Power-house Generation Equipment and Industrial Electrical and Electronic Installations in the Sugar industry.
Instrument Repair - Working on installing, finding and repair of Mechanic Electronic process-related Instrumentation System on Boilers, Mills juice treatment, Evaporation Pans, Centrifugal, Bagging and Weighing devices.
Sugar Processing - Working with a team having detailed knowledge of sugar chemistry and production as a highly skilled pan boiler in the final stages of the manufacture and shipment sugar.
As an applicant for the GuySuCo Apprenticeship, you must have an interest in Engineering and must complete the selection test.
CXC passes at grade Three (3) or above in Mathematics, English and a Science Subject will be a distinct advantage.
Application forms are available at the Personnel Departments of the various Sugar Estates, GuySuCo Training Centre and GuySuCo’s Head Office, Ogle Estate.
Closing date for all applications is the 6th June 2007
and testing will be conducted through the Personnel Departments of all estates on the 9th June 2007 at 08:00hrs.
