Body Mass Index chart

Body Mass Index is an indication of the health status of a person. Use the chart below to determine your Body Mass Index and obtain an indication of your current health status. Please note that underweight, overweight, obese and very obese are all undesirable indications of health. Remember that you are ultimately responsible for your own health.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

  1. Check your height on the chart, using the unit of measurement you are most comfortable with.
  2. Then check your weight on the chart, using the unit of measurement you are most comfortable with.
  3. Now, determine your Body Mass Index by reading the number that is at the intersection between the row of numbers from your height and column of numbers from your weight. This number is your Body Mass Index.
  4. For your health indication, observe the colour of the band that your Body Mass Index falls within, then read the bottom of the chart which gives an indication of your health status based on this colour.
